The Mouse That Roared*

Middle East: Iran-Israel-USA and the West

Is the Middle East’s political puppet show over?

Why is the West committing such a criminal act in that locality?

Are they aware of the outcome of their actions?

Why does Israel takes it upon Itself to bombard embassies in foreign lands?

Are they following the paraphrased words of Bill Clinton: “They could and have done it?”

Why did the Iranian government notify western nations of its intended attack on Israel?

How could Israel send drones to nuclear facilities in Isfahan yet cause no damage?

Are all these actions and reactions a play in the international arena?

Can anyone, in their right mind, approve of the West’s foreign policy of  HAVING NO POLICY AT ALL?

  • Disclaimer: The word “Israelis” as used in this writing only denotes the Israeli Government and not the people.  For the latter I will use “Israeli people”

When Iranians gave way to a criminal group called Muslim Clergy to rule over them, the nation had only one way to go, and that was a downgrade to disaster: to lose any trace of civilization that they were able to muster in the preceding decades. Opportunist Iranians helped these individuals—people like Yazdi and Ghotbzadeh in the U.S. and Banisadr in France.

As time passed, many of these individuals and their cronies changed positions and became adversaries to their masters in Iran. Some left the country to live peacefully among the nations they helped procure their interests. They have been well rewarded for their services and occupy high positions in major academic institutions of those nations; check for the professorship awarded after the revolution in the nation’s foremost universities, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and others.

The atrocities that have been and are being committed by the current regime in Iran cannot be judged on any scale. The so-called advanced and civilized nations, for their benefits and gains, disregarded what was and is taking place in Iran and continued their business with mullahs. The evidence indicates that the French cooperated fully with the corrupt and criminal regime of the Islamic Republic. This cooperation was demonstrated in cases of Iranian assassins engaged in the assassination of Iranian decededent living in France.  As an example,  the French government released the assassin of the former Iranian prime minister, Shapur Bakhtiar, to Tehran.

It is sad to observe what disenchanted Iranians living abroad got engaged into. They have lost their vision and cannot realize their country’s danger. They cannot recognize that foreign governments don’t care whether Iran exists or perishes from the face of the earth, and what counts to them is the benefit that they can derive from their friendship with Iran.

It is no secret that some countries like Saudi Arabia, Israel, and other Arab states in the Persian Gulf would love to see a weak and disabled Iran, and unfortunately, many of the so-called Iranian elites, especially those living abroad, are ignorant of this fact and are playing into the hands of foreign powers.

The British have continuously proven that they will help disintegrate Iran whenever their interests dictate. One occasion that comes to my mind is the dismembering of Iranian Azerbaijan and Kurdistan during the post-WWII era (1946-47). The British were ready to let the Russians have those two provinces if the latter agreed not to have any claims on Khuzestan, the British bread and butter for its oil. The British failed because the U.S. President, Harry Truman, was more clairvoyant than those who followed him. Centuries earlier, the Britain instigated the separation of Afghanistan from Iran and helped the Tsars of Russia to obtain many states in northern Iran during wars in the early nineteenth century.

Foreign policy in the U.S. has changed over the preceding several decades. Of course, if we could believe that Washington ever had an acceptable form of “Foreign Policy,” just read what happened in the most recent congressional meeting when foreign help was discussed for Ukraine and Israel. The way that most American politicians behave themselves makes one wonder, “Are they the Israeli bell boys or American statesmen, the way that they listen and obey “His Master’s Voice?”[1] ? The late Shah of Iran was right in his opinion, expressed on several occasions to American newspapermen, that Israelis have been dictating American Foreign policies.”[2]

One can understand and predict the behaviors of Israeli leaders by listening to their speeches or observing them in action. They are adamant about preventing the existence of any powerful nations in the Persian Gulf. Having nuclear power by any country in that area should be stopped, irrespective of the means needed to achieve this goal. They bombed Iraqi nuclear plants during Saddam’s regime. Netanyahu is the most visible individual on this subject. In all his past talks, wherever they were given, from the Joint session of the U.S. Congress to the United Nations Assembly, he has repeatedly emphasized that Iranians are making atomic bombs and that they are a few months away from succeeding. Netanyahu was persuasive in his talks, showing elaborate graphs to illustrate his opinion.

He tried his utmost to convince the United States to attack Iran. Here, I must give Washington a little credit that they did not fall for this treachery. Since Israelis could not get any other government to do their dirty job for them, they decided to take matters into their hand. Thus, they embarked on a criminal and despicable procedure, assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists. There is evidence that this detestable action had the blessing of the United States government, who again became involved in terroristic activity against Iranians as it did in 1953 during the Eisenhower administration to remove Mossadegh, and again in 1978-79, during Carter’s presidency to depose the Shah.

Israeli hardliners, specifically Netanyahu, have continuously demanded American military intervention in Iran. He has always advocated for marginalizing Iranian power in the area. They were engaged in this plot even during the Shah’s regime. There is little doubt that the Shah was aware of their intrigue and it was not without merit when Shah said, “Israelis interfere with U.S. foreign policy.”

Israel, meanwhile, has been engaged in the assassination of Iranian military personnel; the last of such episodes was the attack on the consular section of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus and the killing of a couple of high-ranking military officers and a score of others. Some of the Iranian officials started screaming that Israel had bombarded the Iranian consulate in Syria, which is a foreign land and off-limits. Those advocating this fact should remember that the American Embassy in Tehran was also a foreign land. Still, it was occupied by a bunch of hoodlums, supposedly university students, and under the direction of a traitor called Khomeini. Of course, the general feeling is that some of us thought that Israelis were more civilized than the Mullahs controlling Iran, a wrong premise

Their recent action, together with the assassination of the Iranian scientists, places Netanyahu and the Israeli Government in the rank of Hitler, Khomeini, Khamenei, and Stalin. They are the same actors in different clothing. The world, specifically the United States, Britain, and France, has been watching these criminal acts and approving what they witness by remaining calm and comfortable and, on occasion, making a pseudo-humanistic gesture, a play only good for their disciples.

There is no way that one can justify killing scientists as a preventive measure to block the progress of science. I will give you a chronological list, and according to Wikipedia and the references provided by them, the “Western intelligence services and U.S. officials reportedly confirmed Israelis connections with these murders.”

Moshe Ya’alon, the ex-defense minister of Israel under Netanyahu (2013-2016), summed up Israeli officialsthoughts by stating: “We will act many ways and are not willing to tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran. We prefer that this be done using sanction, but in the end,  Israel should be able to defend itself.”

Israelis assassinated several of the Iranian Scientists.

This statement came from an Israeli and his concerns. However, American officials’ comments mirror American politicians’ reactions and understanding of world politics. Senator Rick

Santorum, a White House contender, and Congressman Newt Gingrich, the ex-speaker of the House, both called the Israeli action, “killing the scientists,” a “Wonderful Thing.” I am wondering what their thoughts would be if the situation were reversed and agents of a hostile country assassinated American scientists.

Watching the daily news and following my fellow compatriots in the public media makes me sad. The notes of many Iranians on Facebook are beyond comprehension. Their understanding of world affairs, belief in what they are told, and preconceived ideas about how problems should be handled are mind-boggling. They show no respect for others’ opinions, and everyone is wrong except them.

Among many Iranians, slandering and defaming the rivals becomes acceptable, and misrepresenting facts becomes a fait accompli. In our hatred for those we don’t like in Iran, specifically the members of the present regime, we are disregarding the future of the land,

sacrificing the well-being of our country of birth and paving the way for its destruction.

The supporters of Prince Reza Pahlavi should be extremely careful in expressing an opinion. They should be aware of history and, from what has happened in the past. We cannot ignore what is going on around us. To express an opinion worth observing, one should have complete knowledge of every word put on the paper and spoken. Human misery and their goodness also have a way to travel across the border. If one disregards this basic, they will not deserve to bear the name of HUMAN, as Saadi puts it:

Human beings are members of a whole,

In the creation of one essence and soul,

If one member is afflicted with pain,

Other members, uneasy, will remain,

If you have no sympathy for human pain,

The name of Human you cannot retain.”

In all my writings, I have shown the most profound respect for Israel and Israelis, but I can’t remain silent when I see the injustices that they have been committing against Palestinians. I am fond of human beings, irrespective of their creed, race, ethnicity, or country of origin. What Hamas has done last October cannot be considered anything but a despicable crime. However, massacring over forty thousand innocent men, women, and children who had no hands in the crime committed by Hamas cannot and should not be overlooked.

Nothing saddens me more than to see pictures and comments placed on Facebook by some of my Iranian friends. These phenomena are the products of those individuals’ miniscule knowledge and understanding and represent a state of pseudo-self-confidence. Recently, someone placed a photo of Netanyahu and his wife with much adoration, as though he was a saint! It made me wonder about the motive behind their undertakings. What are they trying to achieve? As human beings, shouldn’t we stand up for the rights of every man (generically speaking)? Mohammad Reza Shah was the only sovereign in the Middle East who maintained an excellent relationship with Israel.

When the Shah requested to purchase military equipment from the United States, specifically, AWACS airplanes (Airborne Warning and Control System), the Israelis were opposed to the idea and their hired hands in Congress and the Senate came to help. Years later, under President Reagan, the Senate used the same tactic against Saudi Arabia’s request to purchase military equipment. However, this time, it was much louder and in a more apparent manner.

On April 20, 2024, the House passed a bill for over 95 billion dollars to help Ukraine and Israel. The former will receive about 60.8 billion dollars, and the latter will receive about 26.4 billion. About nine billion is earmarked for the Palestinians that may also go to others, such as  Haiti. In my previous writings, I have expressed my opinion about giving money to Israel. I need help understanding the rationale behind this pork barrel spending while Americans lack funds for their daily lives. They cannot afford their daily living cost, food, and medicines. Our elderly citizens must pay taxes on their small pensions; why should our Government give away part of that money to Israel with no clear-cut evidence?

I am sure that the Israelis are making a grave mistake in pursuing their present policies. These policies will ultimately hurt them more than anyone else. Long ago, in one of my articles, I compared their actions to a man sitting on the tip of a tree branch and cutting it from its point of insertion, unaware of the disastrous outcome that awaits him (from a poem by Saadi).

On April 21, 2024, the French news agency France 24 reported that Netanyahu vowed to increase military pressure on Hamas to get the release of the Israelis in captivity. I hope that he has considered all aspects of such an undertaking. Closing all doors to the people, leaving nothing for them to hang on, may bring unwarranted consequences. It may come with the cost of the lives of those in captivity unless Mr. Netanyahu is more interested in having Gaza than the release of the Israelis from the hands of Hamas.

Let me return to what I intended to discuss in this writing. Israel, more specifically Netanyahu, maintains that Iran is helping Hamas and, therefore, is responsible for their action. Most likely, he is right about this assumption. To prevent the Mullahs in Iran from causing harm, he started an unorthodox plan, “assassinate the Iranian scientists.” The U.S. administration was aware of their action and remained deaf and mute. Israel killed a couple of generals in bombarding the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Iran retaliated and sent hundreds of drones and missiles against Israel. Something peculiar happened during these events; they notified the world that they would do that! Why? Were they that stupid, or did they want to alert the Israelis and avert damages? Why did they launch the attack from Iran, a distance away and requiring hours to get to the target? Why didn’t they use a location in Syria or Lebanon, so much closer to their intended targets? Were they testing their abilities? Were they making a point clear to the Americans, the Israelis, and the Westerners?

Let us not forget that the American Government has the most to lose in a war. Remember the huge U.S. military forces in the Persian Gulf, a stone’s throw from Iran’s cost. Did Iranians achieve what they wanted to get?

Days later, Israel hit some strategic areas in central Iran, seemingly with very little damage.

ARE WE WITNESSING A POLITICAL PUPPET SHOW?

In the end, are they playing a game or ADHERING TO THE PRINCIPAL OF “DON’T KNOW HOW AND WHAT?

Finally, the U.S. administration seems to begin to understand what is happening in the Middle East and Gaza. The atrocities committed by Netanyahu and his group are catching the world’s attention. Killing innocents, starving millions, is causing much dismay around the world. Unrest is taking place among the young American college students, like what happened during the latter parts of the Vietnam war. According to the reports by Human Rights Watch, the Israeli army and the settlers in the West Bank have killed over 483 Palestinians since October 7, 2023. It seems that the U.S. is finally catching up with was going on and the outside pressure is increasing for them to act. It seems that that the U.S. is considering to impose sanctions on one of the Israeli military units, the “Netzah Yehuda,” because it abuses Palestinian human rights. If the sanction happens, it will be by the 1997 Leahy law.[3]

Netanyahu is promising to fight Americans with all he has got. I WONDER WHEN HE WILL REALIZE THAT THERE IS A LIMIT IN PUSHING PEOPLE AROUND.
